Seattle Kendo Kai (SKK) was founded in the 1920s, with its first permanent dojo established around 1924. It is the oldest dojo in the Pacific Northwest and the only one to have continued after the Second World War.

We strive to perpetuate and teach traditional Japanese kendo along the guidelines established by the All Japan Kendo Federation (AJKF) and International Kendo Federation (FIK), and emphasizes the importance of form and spirit. Beginners are provided with a strong foundation in several kendo fundamentals such as footwork, posture, and kiai (spirit).

SKK is a member of the the Pacific Northwest Kendo Federation (PNKF) and offers a both a kendo and iaido program. Instruction is provided in both Japanese and English languages.
